If Jesus wants to reveal himself, then why does He speak in parables? The answer is found in that one line: "Therefore consider carefully how you listen." (Luke 8:18). We’re called to follow Jesus with everything, and He will expose areas of our lives that are against Him... and when those moments come it will feel like despair, but it’s only because we’re losing confidence in ourselves... it’s in these moments that we have the opportunity to truly consider how we’re listening and open our hearts afresh to receive more of Jesus into our lives.
